The short version
Padella collects nothing. It has no account of ours, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party tracking, and it sends nothing to Liftbridge Labs. The app talks to your own Tandoor Recipes server, and to the web pages you choose to import recipes from.
Your Tandoor server
You enter the address of your Tandoor Recipes server and sign in. Padella then reads and saves your recipes, meal plans and shopping list on that server. What happens to them there is up to you, or whoever runs the server.
You sign in with an API token from Tandoor, or with your Tandoor username and password. If you use your password, Padella sends it only to your server, which returns an access token; the app keeps the token and never stores the password.
The server's address, the access token and any custom headers you add (for a server behind a sign-in service such as Cloudflare Access or Authentik) are kept in the iOS Keychain on your device and sent only to that server. They are not synced to iCloud, and only Padella and its own Share extension can read them.
Importing recipes
When you paste a link, or share a page from Safari to Padella, the app reads that page and its photos and saves the recipe to your Tandoor server. The site you import from sees an ordinary visit from your device. The page is not sent anywhere else.
What stays on your device
The app keeps, on your iPhone or iPad only:
- a copy of the recipes you have opened, and their photos, so they open without a connection;
- shopping list changes made offline, until they reach your server;
- running cooking timers, which the Lock Screen and widgets show;
- your settings, such as the theme.
Settings > Sign out removes your server's address, your access token, any custom headers and the saved recipes and photos from the device, and cancels running timers. Settings > Clear saved recipes and photos empties the saved copy without signing out. Deleting the app removes the saved copy and your settings, but iOS can keep Keychain items after an app is deleted, so sign out first if you want the address and token gone too.
Permissions
Padella asks for notifications the first time you start a cooking timer, so the timer can tell you when it is done. iOS may also ask to let the app use your local network, because many Tandoor servers run on a home network. The app does not use your camera, photo library, location, contacts or microphone.
Crash reports
If you choose to share analytics with app developers in your device's settings, or send feedback through TestFlight, Apple passes us crash reports and diagnostics under its own privacy policy. We do not add any other data collection.
Support
If you email support@liftbridgelabs.app, we see what you send us (your address and the contents of your message) and use it only to answer you.
Children
Padella is not directed at children under 13 and collects nothing from anyone.
Not affiliated
Padella is an independent app. It is not made by or affiliated with the Tandoor Recipes project, and it talks to your server only through Tandoor's public API.
