FeedStash follows your feeds and keeps the links, notes and screenshots you save in one place, so there is no bouncing between a reader and a read-later app. Saved links keep a readable copy of the page, so an article stays even if the site changes or disappears, and you can search the full text of everything you have kept.

The app needs your own FeedStash server. The server is free and open source, runs as a single Docker container on a home server, NAS or VPS, and keeps everything in SQLite on your own hardware. It also gives you a web app, sign-in with a password, Google, or any OpenID Connect provider, and imports from OPML, Feedly exports and bookmark files. Other reader apps can connect through the Google Reader API.

The free extension for Chrome, Edge, Brave and Firefox adds FeedStash to the right-click menu: save a link, the text you selected, the whole page or a screenshot of it, with tags, a folder or a note if you want them. When you save the page you are on, it sends a readable copy along, so even pages behind a sign-in are kept. It only asks to reach your own FeedStash server.
